Kokedama Workshop
Kokedama (moss ball) is a Japanese art form of living sculpture suspended in air.
Very similar to bonsai, the plant and roots of a kokedama are contained in a small space. Its form and preparation represents the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic principles, defined as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.”
With guidance from instructor Cathrina Susoev (the Kokedama Mama), participants will learn how to make a kokedama using a variety of beautiful plants and take home the finished product at the end of class. All supplies, as well as instructions for assembly and care, are included.
The workshop will begin with a calming mind-body centered movement meditation, Self-Breema.
The class size is limited to 12 students, so please reserve your space as soon as possible.
Pre-registration is necessary.
$115.00 per person.

Watercolor Fundamentals Part 2 (Class 5 of 6)
Watercolor Fundamentals Part 2
This next series will build on what we learned in Part 1, quickly refreshing some techniques and then applying them in our paintings. We will create more complex landscape paintings, skies and seascapes; wet-into-wet and wet-into-dry nature studies in a few different ways, and we will venture further into painting from our imaginations. We will explore abstraction and non-representational styles, where we don't look at something and try to paint it, but instead work intuitively with colors and shapes and let the paintings emerge and evolve from there. You don't have to know where you're going, enjoy the journey and see where it takes you!
This class is designed for adults 18+
class sizes are limited to 7 people, please register early
$270 for 6 classes, 2.5 hours each class
Payable via check, cash, or Zelle.
Brushes, palettes, set-ups, and paint will be provided.
There will be a materials fee of $15 plus tax for the series.

POPUP: Cyanotype Gifts by Hannah Donovan
Hannah Donovan is a local artist specializing in cyanotype. Dating back to the 1800s, cyanotype is a camera-less photographic method that uses the sun to expose beautiful blue prints. Hannah uses local flora, hand-cut stencils, and the powerful California sun to print her cyanotypes on fabric and paper. Her work celebrates the body, highlights the healing power of nature, and showcases the organic shapes and textures of plants outside her front door.
Visit with Hannah and shop her cards, artwork and gifts on Saturday, September 7th from 10:00-1:00 at Tenfold Farmstand.
